I realized that I have quite a backlog of paperbacks that could be added to penguin paperback spotters. These are two of my favourites:

July Pika Package

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

I am so excited to be participating in Project Pika Package for July! This fun project is the brain child of Amy over at Pikaland … illustrators from all of the the world send in pieces of their work, and she assembles them into lovely sets that you can purchase. The specific pieces you receive will be a surprise, but that is part of the fun I think, and you should see some of the contributors lined up so far! I have many new favourites and I’m looking forward to getting my own Pika Package!

Here is a picture Amy took of some of the things I sent (over on the project’s flickr stream, where you can see more of the contributions): stockton and co pika package

summer kite

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Oh those Lab Partners have done it again!  New in their shop, a summer-y gocco series in crisp blue and black. I love the whale and the constellation + balloon … I think I may need to get the whole set!

new note cards from Beau Ideal

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

I picked up the first set of doily cards from Beau Ideal, so I was excited to see that she has created a new, similar line called Coral Gables. (Anyone else use the Etsy shop RSS feature? Great for making sure you don’t miss new work by your favourite artists, bad for the pocket book!) Anyway I just love her use of pattern and colour. Beautiful! (You can learn more about her work at Studio 302.)
